What's everyone think of the new Guzzi V7 Classic? (See photo attached)

Not sure if this bike will come to the states or not.

The motor is only a 750cc (48 HP) based on the 750 BREVA, but maybe this is OK, since it is only about 400 lbs.

If they put the 8-valve GRISO motor in this, a sure-fire WINNER (IMO).

Looks pretty "classic" to me! 70's design all over it.

Vitaly-Man!

Happy New Year!

Yes, the new V7 Classic definitely has "the 70's look" and that is OK by me. Triumph, Ducati, and even Harley have capitalized on recent retro models.

I just think it would be better served for the USA market with a 1-liter (1,000cc) motor. Maybe that's the plan and Guzzi is just testing the waters with a 750cc.

Happy New Year to you too!

For some reason Guzzi in my mind is all about massive engines. I think you are right about he liter... maybe even bigger? But that would mean bigger tires, shocks, etc, etc, etc,

With motorcycles, as with most motorized vehicles, it all about "Horsepower-to-Weight ratio."

Maybe with a 750cc (48HP) motor at only 400 lbs, is just fine.

My 07' Road King is >770 lbs, 1,584cc and about 70 HP. That thing is a HUGE sled!!

My 83' Le Mans-III is about 545 lbs, 850cc, about 76HP.

I suspect this model is geared toward the EU market where there are stiff fees for the larger displacement motors. If they bring it to the US and it's priced like the Breva 750, I think it would sell reasonably well and by well, I mean better than other small block Guzzi's.

Hi Mark and greetings from sunny Beverly Hills, Florida!

I am visiting my elderly parents who retired here 13 years ago. It is a nice, snoozy little retirement town about 1.5 hours north of Tampa.

Yes, we'll see if MG brings this V-7 Classic to the states or not. I would like to see one in person. I sat on the new 1200 Sport (again) a few weeks ago. Nice bike! It fit me like a glove, but I am out of room in the ol' garage!

Besides, I need to finish my Le Mans-III. I think I told you I ordered a MG Cycles "Stucchi-Luigi-Comfort-Seat" made in Italy exclusively for the LM-III. I'll let you know when it arrives (a few more weeks?). Then, I just need to fix the dual Hella horns and running light for the rear tail light (ground issue?). Anyway, I look forward to spring and riding again soon! Take care and ride safe!

Best regards,

I always liked the mid-seventies V7 Sports! You need to get that bad-boy on the road again, and especially if your father's is complete and running!

I bid on a beautiful original V7 Sport 2 years ago at the Mid-America Vingtage Motorcycle Auction in Vegas, but the guy wanted too much ($14,000) for it.

I know.....I know....... this has been a bad running joke for a while as I have had the bike for far too many years wihout doing anything to it. A big factor is the $$$$ and other than that I haven't made the time. Yes shame on me.

$14K is a bit steep but it's only worth what someone is willing to pay for it and to me it is priceless.

It would be good if you could bring that V-7 back to life. They are such timeless classiscs!

The Guzzi dealer in Livermore told me yesterday it's anybody's guess when the new V-7 Classic will arrive in the USA - - and worst of all, it will be priced at $8,999!! Still, I would like to see one in person before passing judgement. Hell, for $9,000, I think I could find nice used one on eBay or something. I am out of money this year and well, and they wife said: "No more room, no more bikes, but technically, I could slip one more in the garage!

Take care!
